Top 10 Tricks For Writing An Outstanding Academic Essay In No Time

There never seems to be enough time to keep up with all our academic assignments, jobs, friends and family! It can be a challenge for even the brightest students to complete top quality essays before the due date. The more efficiently you can work, the more likely you are to achieve the grades you want, and need, to graduate.

Here is our top ten list of time saving tricks:

The Early Bird Gets The “A”

The sooner you start thinking about your essay, the better. Make note of any ideas as they come to you. Don't worry about organizing them at this point, just get them down so you don't forget anything.

Get The Research Right The First Time

Do any necessary research ASAP, preferably before you start writing your draft. Be sure that you have the minimum number of sources required for the assignment, and that you have got your facts right.

Are You Organized?

Put away any books or reference material that is not related to the essay assignment at hand. Then organize all the data you will need to complete your work.

Create A Comprehensive Outline

An outline will stop you from being side-tacked as you work. Remember that an introduction, supporting evidence/paragraphs and a convincing conclusion are all part of any successful essay.

Do Your Draft

Start putting together a draft of your essay. It doesn't need to be perfect, but try to organize your thoughts and arguments.

Don't Get Distracted

Turn off the TV, and put your mobile devices away! Music may help you stay calm and focus on the task at hand.

Set A Timer To Keep The Words Coming

Some students find that it helps to set a timer for five or ten minutes, and then write continuously until the alarm goes off. It doesn't need to be perfect at this point, but you want to get some words written down.

And Then Take A Break!

If you feel you are burning out, and no progress is being made, take a rest. Then come back with a cup of tea and a biscuit, ready for round two!

Leave Time For An Edit

Always leave enough time to proofread and edit your essay before you submit it. Run it through a spell and grammar check program, and try to eliminate any repetition, or run on sentences.

Check Your Sources And Works Cited Page

Make certain you have included the works that you used while writing your essay at the end of your work. Be sure that these are formatted the way that your instructor prefers them to be!
